Many Americans suffer from knee pain and there are many causes of this pain including an injury to the knee, arthritis, a meniscus tear, tendinitis and bursitis. Sometimes Brighton Beach knee pain is not a pain that is caused in the knee but can be radiated to the knee while the problem actually occurs on the hip or even in the feet. The same can be true for pains felt in the hip, and back. When there is no physical injury or condition in one of these areas, especially within the knee the problem often occurs in the feet because they are misaligned. Misaligned feet are the result of the anklebone sliding off of the heel bone causing a small, naturally occurring space in between (the sinus tarsi) to collapse. This collapse causes misalignment all along the body’s stem, including the knee.
It is estimated that 45 percent of people have misaligned feet. Often Brighton Beach knee pain that is caused by misaligned feet is misdiagnosed as other conditions of the knee. Our Body & Feet podiatry practice helps patients with knee pain not due to a physical condition in the knee by treating misaligned feet. Knee pain is often accompanied by swelling and stiffness, redness and warmth to the touch, a weakness and instability in the knee, popping or crunching noises and an inability to fully straighten the knee. Our doctor can treat misaligned feet through a treatment called HyProCure, which surgically inserts a small titanium stent into the sinus tarsi fixing hyperpronation by keeping the sinus tarsi in a stable open position. The stent keeps the anklebone from sliding forward and off of the heel bone and keeps the rest of the body in its natural alignment. The knee is in its natural position when walking.
Brighton Beach knee pain due to misaligned feet does not start with a single acute episode but is the result of tens-of-thousands of steps, each aggravating the knee a little more. Keeping the foot aligned, which results in keeping the knee stable alleviates the stress put on the knee with every step. The use of HyProCure fixes the underlying cause of knee pain and is a permanent solution not a quick, temporary fix. If you have unresolved pain issues with your knees please contact our office for an appointment and let our doctor evaluate the alignment of your feet.
